Karl von der Heyden is chairman emeritus of The American Academy in Berlin and a trustee of New York City Global Partners.

He has served on the boards of several public companies, including DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., Macy's Inc., Aramark Corporation, PanAmSat and NYSE Euronext, Inc.

Mr. von der Heyden was vice chairman of the board of directors of PepsiCo, Inc., from 1996 to 2001 where he also served in various senior management capacities, including as chief financial officer. He has also served as co-chairman and chief executive officer of RJR Nabisco, president and chief executive officer of Metallgesellschaft Corp. and senior vice president, chief financial officer and a director of H.J.Heinz Company.

He is a former trustee of Duke University, the YMCA of Greater New York and other non-profit organizations. In addition, he chaired the Financial Accounting Standard Board's Advisory Council and was a senior adviser to the Clipper Group, a private equity firm.

Mr.von der Heyden attended the Free University of Berlin and received his bachelor's degree from Duke University and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has a CPA certificate.
