Refer a Friend

 

Each division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) accepts referrals for all positions. Some positions within AMSEC and Newport News Shipbuilding have been identified as referral bonus eligible. This is designed to reward current employees for referring qualified candidates to target positions for which the referred candidate is hired.

The Employee Referral Program may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the sole discretion of Human Resources. Human Resources reserves the right to administer and interpret the Employee Referral Program at its discretion.

Employee Eligibility Exceptions:

All HII employees are eligible for this program with the exception of the following:

  • Managers or individuals involved in the hiring process or hiring decision of the job seeker
  • Summer hires, interns, casual employees, and other temporary employees
  • Employees whose referrals were identified through their participation in recruiting programs, e.g., job fairs, college recruiting events, etc.
  • Employees who work within any HII Human Resources department
  • Employees that are specifically prohibited from participation in the Employee Referral Program as a result of any labor agreements, or other such circumstances
  • Employees in bonus-eligible programs
  • Referrals previously submitted by another employee within the last 12 months
  • Referrals of temporary agency or contract employees who worked for HII within the past 12 month
  • Referrals of former employees who worked for Huntington Ingalls Industries within the last 12 months
  • Referrals of current employees of HII in any capacity (including consultants and contractors)

AMSEC

  • All HII employees are eligible to submit referrals
  • Only AMSEC employees are eligible for referral bonus
  • Contact your local AMSEC Human Resources Representative for referral form and additional information

CMSD

  • All HII employees are eligible to submit referrals
  • Contact your local CMSD Human Resources Representative for additional information

Ingalls Shipbuilding

  • All HII employees are eligible to submit referrals
  • Positions identified as referral bonus eligible will be advertised as ERAP in specific job postings on the Careers website and in the Centerline employee newsletter
  • Awards will be paid after ninety (90) days as long as the referred employee and the referring employee are still employed by HII
  • Referrals must be submitted online erap.ss@hii-ingalls.com
  • Please follow the guidelines and procedures outlined below. Failure to comply will negatively impact your ability to receive your award.
    • Have the qualified candidate apply to the opening while the position is still posted and advertised online
    • The employee must e-mail the Ingalls ERAP e-mail account erap.ss@hii-ingalls.com within 48 hours of the candidate applying to the position with the following information:
      • Your name
      • Your badge number
      • Your current department number
      • The name of the candidate you are referring
      • Position/Job Title and Requisition Number you are referring them to
    • Please Note: If the candidate was already in our job applicant system at the time your referral was made, the referral will not be honored

Newport News Shipbuilding

Awards will be paid after ninety (90) days as long as the referred employee and the referring employee are still employed by HII. Referrals should be submitted online nnreferral@hii-nns.com. The following targeted positions at Newport News Shipbuilding are eligible for a referral bonus:

  • Engineer 3, Engineer 4, and Engineer 5 positions will be eligible for a $2000 award
  • Computer Systems Security Analyst 2 and Computer Systems Security Analyst 3 positions will be eligible for a $1000 award
  • Engineer Systems 3 position will be eligible for a $2000 award
  • Engineer Systems 4 and Engineer Systems 5 positions will be eligible for $3000 awards
  • Systems Administrator 3 position will be eligible for a $2000 award
  • Systems Administrator 4 position will be eligible for a $3000 award

  • Have the qualified candidate apply to the opening while the position is still posted and advertised online.
  • The employee must email Refer a friend email account (nnreferral@hii-nns.com) within 48 hours of the candidate applying to the position with:
    • Your name
    • Your Badge/Pernr #
    • Your current department #
    • The name of the candidate you're referring
    • The Position/Job Title and Requisition Number you are referring them to

Please Note: If the candidate was already in our job applicant system at the time the referral was made, the referral will not be honored
