Message to our Communities
As Huntington Ingalls Industries celebrates its five-year anniversary, we take pride in the value we’ve created—not just as a business but as a vital member of the communities where we have a presence.
To honor these actions, each year we publish a “Report to the Community” to highlight the dedicated men and women at HII who volunteer their time and direct their passion to improving the world around them.
You will find HII employees all across the country and around the world, and wherever they are, they are doing their part to make life better. I am grateful to our nearly 36,000 employees who are actively engaged in making our communities stronger. As HII has grown over the last five years, our employee presence has spread from primarily Virginia and Mississippi to more than 30 states, including Washington, D.C., and to countries around the world. In each of these communities, our dedicated employees give on their own to charitable organizations and activities in addition to engaging in company-sponsored events supporting the United Way, the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.
With every hour dedicated and every dollar donated, we see the benefits of investing in our communities. At HII, we’re not just employees; we’re Little League coaches, tutors, advocates, care-givers and more. I am proud to share with you, in this report, many of the names of the hard-working men and women who dedicate their time to volunteering, and I encourage you to see if any of your friends and neighbors are included.
Please join me in thanking the employees of HII for doing their part as neighbors in the community
