2016 Recipients

In 2016, the HII Scholarship Fund provided financial support to 78 children of HII employees:

  • 30 students enrolled in four-year education programs received $3,000
  • 16 students enrolled in two-year technical/vocation programs received $1,500
  • 32 pre-K students received one-time awards of $3,000

About the Scholarship

In March of 2016, HII President and CEO Mike Petters announced that the company was establishing a scholarship fund to provide educational assistance for children of HII employees.

The Huntington Ingalls Industries Scholarship Fund is for dependent children of eligible HII employees enrolled in post-secondary college education (two- or four-year programs) and pre-kindergarten school readiness programs. It is administered by Scholarship America.

Application period begins February 15, 2017 and runs through April 15, 2017.

Anyone can contribute to the HII Scholarship Fund. Donations currently accepted by check only. Mail your check, payable to:

Please indicate on the check or cover letter that you are designating your contribution to the HII Scholarship Fund. Within two weeks of receipt of your tax deductible contribution to Scholarship America, you will receive a confirmation letter from Scholarship America.
