Newport News Shipbuilding achieved highest accreditation level in the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program (E4) in 2017

HII’s environmental stewardship and sustainability efforts are recognized nationally and regionally.

As a company, we are committed to waste reduction and recycling and to preserving and improving air and water quality in all of the communities in which we operate. We are also pleased that many of our employees volunteer their own time and energy to preserving our greatest natural resource—our environment—for future generations.

Ingalls Shipbuilding reduced hazardous waste generation 11% in 2017 and 60% since 2012.
