Q. What is MyHR?
The new MyHR online system will be an easy, efficient and convenient way for employees to view and change personal information in the HR system. Employees will be able to access MyHR from work and home computers, and mobile devices. MyHR will also be the hub for integrating and modernizing HR processes such as managing employee data and profiles, performance and goal-setting, career development and new hire onboarding.

The company needed to upgrade its HR processes to eliminate old-fashioned paperwork and to develop a system that gave employees access to their records. The new MyHR system will utilize web- and cloud-based technology to replace our outdated HR system.

Q. How will MyHR transform our business?
MyHR is another way the company keeps pace with evolving technology. With MyHR, employees can now expect the same speed and access to business applications and transactions that they have 24/7 at home or through their mobile devices. Modernizing our HR system will enable the company to better manage and use HR data that will allow it to be more agile and responsive to changing business needs.
Q. What HR processes will be changed?
In 2017, MyHR will release an electronic Employee Development & Performance Management tool for the salaried workforce. Later in the year, the employee self-service tool will be available to all employees. Other processes are scheduled for release later in 2017 and 2018.
Q. How will HR processes change?
Some of the cumbersome paper form requirements will be replaced with electronic forms. Some paper forms require an employee to fill it out manually and then mail or personally drop off the form to an HR office. This process will be replaced with electronic entry, signature and submittal saving an employee a significant amount of time for a relatively easy HR request like an address change.
Q. Who will use MyHR?
Employees who are currently in the SAP system used by HR under HII Corporate and Newport News Shipbuilding will have access to MyHR.
Q. Should I be concerned about the security of my personal information with a cloud-based application like MyHR?
No. NNS has performed the same level of due diligence to protect your personal information in the cloud as it does to protect your personal information maintained on the NNS network.
